The Avenues Pumpkin Carving We’re going to go ahead and say it. This is the largest pumpkin carving event in the Gulf South. Nobody has disputed this. We’re running with it. Every October, the Avenues takes over Keg and Barrel Downtown and turns it into a full-scale pumpkin carving competition. Families, neighbors, artists, people who have never held a carving tool in their life — all of them, knives out, gourds everywhere, competing for bragging rights and a trophy that means more than it probably should. October 22nd · 5:30 PM · Keg and Barrel Downtown, Hattiesburg Bring your own pumpkin. Bring your own tools if you’ve got them — we’ll have some on hand but the serious competitors know to come prepared. All ages welcome. Judging is fierce. The vibes are immaculate.
